The R390A enjoys diverse use among several hobby groups. Properly configured, the receiver is capable of offering superb audio quality.  Thus, it is sought after by AM enthusiasts within the Amateur Radio hobby. Short Wave and Medium Wave Broadcast DX'ers take advantage of the incredible sensitivity, immunity to overload and selectivity of the R390A. The R390A/URR enjoys wide use in all facets of the listening hobby.
