Below are links of a commercial nature that may be of interest to Listening and R390A enthusiasts.  All the listings below are companies with which I have either done business with or have a personal relationship with the owners.
 

Hi-Res Communications - Information is the key to owning and maintaining vintage receiving equipment.  Hi-Res Communications offer a series of informational video tapes on the radio hobby.  The most recent additions are the R390A and Hammarlund SP-600.

Sherwood Engineering - Home of my #1 most recommended accessory, the SE-3 MK III D (Deluxe) High-Fidelity Phase-Locked AM Product Detector. Eliminates Selective-Fade distortion and garbling.  Able to receive one sideband at a time to minimize interference.  Provides a degree of SSB performance to the R390A.

Creative Express Corporation creates and markets ERGOTM integrated software to enhance shortwave radio listening.  Our business started in 1997 with a virtual front panel for the AR7030.  Ergo 3  evolved to provide support for Drake R8A/B, NRD535/D, WJ HF-1000/8711A and TEN-TEC RX-320 receivers, as well as propagation, path evaluation and database management.  Last year, we added real-time propagation information support over the internet.

Now, we are pleased to release Ergo 4, a brand new program with extensive features and a higher level of integration and functionality.  Ergo 4 adds support for the R9000, R75, R8500, RX350, RX340, and NRD545, and more.  Development of new features will continue and users will have the choice of running regular production or beta versions.

American Trans-Coil - The last manufacturer of R390A coils and parts, ATC is still in business offering parts and assemblies for the receiver.  Visit their WWW Site for availability and pricing.

Universal Radio - Is, in my opinion the most pleasureable retail establishment catering to the Radio Hobby with which to do business.  I have known owner Fred Osterman on a personal basis for many years and can attest to their well deserved reputation.  Support them, Universal has long been a hobby

Kiwa Electronics - Has long been a friend to the listening hobby with specialty ascessories and periphials of extreme quality.  Check out their site for a complete listing of Kiwa's products of uncompromising quality such as IF filters and their Medium Wave Loop.

SBE Electronics - Have been manufacturing metal film (Orangedrop) capacitors up in Vermont since 1959.   Finding the higher voltage types used in Vintage radios is getting harder and harder to find.  Visit their WWW site for availability and also excellent technical explanations on the benefits of "Orangedrop" capacitors.
