A little about myself:

I have been an active listening enthusiast since 1970 with a primary interest in Short Wave Broadcast DX'ing.  That is, I enjoy listening for difficult to hear broadcasters using the Tropical and International Shortwave Bands.  Medium Wave and Longwave DX have perked my interest of late and I enjoy sifting through those bands also.  Listening is a challenging and demanding hobby attracting people from all walks of life.  Sometimes, listeners are considered "want to be hams" but in many cases, just the opposite is true.  Many long time listeners are "don't want to be hams."

A licensed radio amateur since 1973, my primary ham radio interest lies in the technical side of the vintage hobby.   However, listening occupies most of my hobby time due in part to what I consider to be the sad state of affairs on the amateur bands today.
